Unto the noble populace of the Baron of Brendoken do we, Baroness Katrina Klein and The Honorable Lord DonalBane of Blakmers, send greetings.
We humbly put forth our names for consideration as Baron and Baroness of Brendoken. It would be a great honor to serve in this barony which we call home.

I, Baroness Katrina Klein, known by many as Wolverine, started in the Barony of Middle Marches in 2007 before beginning college within the Marche of Gwyntarian that fall. Other than a few summers and winter breaks, I have considered the Barony of Brendoken to be home. In that time I have served as both Herald and Seneschal of the Marche of Gwyntarian and am currently Brendoken’s Baronial Knights Marshal.

I am a lover of all things sword fighting and endeavor to help and encourage all who desire to take the list to do so. In conjunction with the SCA DEI Office, I have given a talk on Gender Minority Fighters in the SCA as this is a topic near and dear to my heart. I also make it a point to attend fighting demos as I believe that every little girl should know that she too can don armor and wield a blade. Outside of fighting I have dabbled in leatherwork, embroidery, and scribal, but my true passions are reading, researching, and gaming. I am squired to Sir Diglach Mac Cein and am a cadet to Master Katherine Vivians.

I, THL DonalBane of Blakmers, joined the Society in 1997 during college in the Barony of Red Spears. For much of my first decade in the Society, my primary service was as battlefield reporter for the Pennsic Independent newspaper. During that time, I was taken as a protégé by Despotiva Heiruselum Christoma, the Independent’s publisher and also earned my AOA for the service.

While I have lived in all four Northern Oaken baronies, Gwyntarian and Brendoken have been my home for 20 years. It is the place I have always felt most at home in the Society. I have served numerous offices in the barony, including pursuivant and seneschal. For my years of service, I was elevated to the Order of the Dragon’s Heart.

Frankly, I love this barony and feel, if I was to serve as Baron, it would be the ultimate form of service to it. In the Society, my primary passions are heraldry, rapier combat (especially melee) and the bardic arts. I take it as a point of pride that the baronial battle cry “Hunter and Sable!” Is based on a song I wrote.

We would like to continue to foster growth within the Barony of Brendoken. As groups continue to return to pre-pandemic levels of activities, we would like to make sure that the community is welcoming and inclusive to all. Baronial Cook Outs, A&S nights, and meetings are all an important part of building our community. It is important to us that these continue to exist and will seek to support them to the best of our abilities.

Brendoken is blessed with numerous Peers, diverse talents in A&S and all martial fields, and in the quiet service of others that make the Barony and its Marches run. Not only do we desire to foster growth in our community, but to support others in whatever their interests may be. We believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. That by helping build others up, that it, in turn, builds everyone.

Yours in Service,
Baroness Katrina Klein & THL DonalBane of Blakmers
