Greetings to Cadwgan Faber, Baron of Brendoken, and to
the Baronial Seneschal Warder Vladimir Gregorovich D’Ragoun,
from Syr Silverthorn of Dracunmoor and Mistress Chai’usun Moritugiin

We would like to put our names forth as candidates for the positions of Baron and Baroness of Brendoken and we hope that we will be granted the privilege of serving the Crown and the Barony.

We have long been members of the SCA: 39 years for Silverthorn and 42 years for Chai. Silverthorn is a Knight of the Society, Companion of the Pelican, Baron of the Court of Eikbrandr and Runa I, Companion of the Dragon’s Heart, Companion of the Evergreen, Captain of the Red Company, Companion of the Silver Oak, Companion of the Order of the Cavendish Knot, Companion of the Order of the Royal Vanguard, a recipient of the Award of the Sapphire, and a two-time recipient of a Royal Augmentation of Arms: Draco Artifex and Moravian Gryphon. From the Barony of Brendoken he has received the Order of the Baron’s Star and the Award of the Golden Tower.

Chai is a Mistress of the Pelican, Baroness of the Court of Eikbrandr and Runa II, Companion of the Dragon’s Heart, Companion of the Willow, recipient of the Purple Fret, and recipient of a Royal Augmentation of Arms: a gold quill pen. From the Barony of Brendoken she has received the Order of the Baroness’s Heart and the Award of the Golden Alderleaf.

We believe the Barony is in excellent form and we have no vision to change anything. Currently we see in the Barony a rebirth, a new growth phase, and we want to encourage and applaud that energy in individual groups across the Barony. We will apply all our skills to do so—Silverthorn as a fighter, a fencer, a champion, and an artisan; Chai as a writer, an organizer, and an artist. If there is one thing we strongly believe, it is that the Baron and Baroness serve the people as well as the Crown. To that end we promise to be approachable and accessible, supportive of both individual and group endeavors for the Barony. Over the years, we have served the Society, Kingdom, and Barony in multiple capacities, and look forward to the opportunity to serve the Barony in a new role for the advancement of all of our groups and of the Kingdom.

In Service,
Chai & Silverthorn
